Teen Driving Back for 2016!

March 6, 2016 Uncategorized

Providing the Southeast with the ultimate driver’s experience, Atlanta Motorsports Park is proud to announce year two of the teen driving program, Street Smarts Teen Driving, geared to educate young people on how to sharpen their skills and improve handling of a vehicle under adverse road conditions. Powered by BMW, AMP’s Street Smarts Teen Driving program raises awareness about the risks and dangers of driving, preparing teens to handle unexpected driving hazards in the safest way possible.

The objective of the AMP Street Smarts Teen Driving School is to equip young people with the tools and knowledge to be safer drivers, and give their parents peace of mind. Offered as a new service of the motor sports facility, one-day programs help improve driver’s skills and provide a comprehensive curriculum to help develop good driver behaviors, applying performance driving skills and techniques to everyday drivers.

According to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in Georgia, the state had more than 300,000 motor vehicle accidents in 2008, with many resulting in fatalities. AMP is dedicated to not only providing avid drivers a world-classmfacility to exercise their skills on their 2-mile professional road course as well as their new Driver Development Centre but educating those on safety during their experience on the circuit. The one-day program includes…

  • Driver Development Centre: utilizing the “Ice Hill” and Skid Pad to practice basic car control and the benefits of the

BMW’s safety, stabilization, traction control features.

  • Autocross Paddock: Low speed precision driving exercises including, car control, braking and slalom.
  • Skills testing and certification.
