Kart Championship Series: Parking Update

Due to the current growth status of kart racing at AMP, Atlanta Motorsports Park is updating its parking policy for the 2016 AMP Kart Championship Series. One of the strains on growth for karting at AMP is the size of our paddock, and to compensate for such we are setting in the following measures and updates in order to give everyone the opportunity race at the most unique go kart track in the world.

Parking

Reserved Parking

In order to help organize our parking situation, parking spots will once again be chosen through pre-registration. Each pit spot is set as first-come, first-serve, in three different sizes. There are six 10′ x 40′ pit spots available for small to medium-sized trailers, as well as fifteen 10′ x 50′ pit spots available for large trailers. For those who do not tow trailers to the racetrack, twenty two 10′ x 19′ pit spots are available for pop-up tents.

No Cars Allowed

The main restriction with the revised parking policy is that only tow vehicles attached to trailers are allowed to remain in the lower paddock area. Racers who reserve tent spaces will be allowed to bring their vehicles in before morning practice to unload, but must remove their cars and/or trucks from the paddock area immediately after. Parking for non-tow vehicles will be located in the grass along the access road beginning right behind the final turn of the track.

Overflow Parking

In the event that all reserved pit spots are taken, excess parking will be lined against the fence backing towards the final turn of the racetrack. Just as with reserved parking, this will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. In the event that the majority of our overflow section becomes full, we will move car parking farther down the access road to create more space.
