Tell us about the cars you love to drive
Have you ever been trained to drive?
My wife Janice and I are both “car nuts.” We each have a Dodge Viper and a Chevrolet Corvette (i.e., 4 cars in total). Approximately 10 years ago, we became members of the MTI Racing “Family”, a group of about a dozen customers of MTI racing who mostly own Corvettes (there are one or two exceptions) and enjoy doing track days together throughout the year. The common denominator is Reese Cox and his employees at MTI Racing who are not only are our close friends (along with their families), but they also prepare our cars, provide track support, and, in many cases, they store our cars at the shop and transport them to the tracks. Although our home track has always been Road Atlanta, we have been to tracks throughout the Southeastern United States, including Barber Motorsports Park, Virginia International Raceway, Roebling Road, Talledega Grand Prix track, and, quite recently, Daytona International Speedway. As a former professional race car driver in the World Challenge Series, Reese is our coach, mentor and friend. It is in this context that several of us, including Reese, Mike Howard and Jeff Price have joined AMP. We are thrilled that there is finally a ultra-high quality, Atlanta-area road racing circuit we can visit throughout the year – – not just when a sponsoring organization decides to have a track weekend.
