Tell us about the cars you love to drive
My son (Nick) and I built a 1974 Porsche 3.0 RSR (from 1981 tub) to HSR group 5 specs. It is for sale ($78,000.00)
Have you ever been trained to drive?
Started moto-cross @ age 16 (nothing serious) just for “fun”. At age 35 raced APBA World Offshore powerboat Championships. During two seasons won two Florida State Offshore powerboat Championships w/ brother Ed. I drove Ed on throttles. 1996 through 2001 raced w/ son (Nick) in Florida State & WKA dirt and asphalt series Karting championships as his crew chief w/ many podium finishes. 2005 built our Porsche and campaigned in CHRA @ Daytona (2nd place first time out) and HSR @ Roebling Rd., Road Atlanta, Daytona, and Sebring w/ consistent podiums and many 1st in class. Most recent @ Daytona 11/09. Finished 3rd in sprint race, and was running 2nd in class 4th overall in enduro w/12 min. left when my motor expired!
What do you do for a living?
I have been a general contractor since 1989 specializing in design, drawing, building custom homes.
Where do you live?
How do you use your membership? Business? Pleasure?
Both business and pleasure. Having had similar visions and experience in this type of venue, I find it astonishing that the folks involved with AMP are making a truly unique facility a reality! I’d like to be a small part.
What do you like most about AMP
I truly believe, after speaking with Jeremy and others, that this is, and will become not only a World class facility but a “blueprint” for the future of motorsports racing venues! the potentials are unlimited.
What was it about AMP that made you want to join?
I became a member for many reasons, one most important is the old saying, “there is no substitute for experience”. The club affords me the opportunity to get valuable “seat time”.
