Sparks in the Motorsports Park!

Staying in tune with the ever-expanding growth at AMP, the 3rd annual Sparks in the Park was our biggest yet! Between go kart racing, motorcycle stunt riding, and the official Dawson County fireworks show for Independence day, this year’s edition was a must-see!

The day began with the first ever Rental Kart Summer Enduro, with teams of 2-3 drivers competing to see who can complete the most laps in a four hour endurance race. 16 Teams lined the grid at 9 A.M. and went toe-to-toe into the early afternoon, with the winning team completing exactly 200 laps! After the checkered flag flew, many teams already began to make arrangements for the final endurance kart race in 2016: our 8-Hour Fall Enduro on September 24th.

Following the Summer Enduro was 7 hours of public karting sessions from 2 – 9 P.M. Hundreds of races were sold and the track was hot with fast karts all the way until the fireworks began to light up the sky! On the car track paddock, cars parked nose-to-bumper to check out the various vendor booths, dunk tanks, and inflatable bounce houses!
Our amazing motorcycle stunt riders returned from last year with multiple shows throughout the afternoon with flips, stunts, and other tricks across the pit lane. Between their shows saw live music that filled the paddock with excitement and American pride. Finally, at 9:30 P.M., the best fireworks show in North Georgia got underway to cap off another amazing day at AMP.
