Tell us about the cars you love to drive

My cars at present are an E55 AMG Mercedes Benz and a Range Rover . I did until recently have a 1966 Lotus Cortina, but unfortunately had to sell it. I am hoping to have a Lotus / Caterham 7 by the time AMP is built.

Have you ever been trained to drive?

As for experience, I did some local club rallying in the UK, in the late 70s early 80s and in the last few  years I have done The Bob Bondurant advanced road racing school in Phoenix,  the Skip Barber school at Sebring and the Panoz school and some Panoz lapping days at Road Atlanta.

What do you do for a living?

I also worked in full time in racing for 20 + years. Starting with a company called March Engineering . I worked on formula 3, formula 2 formula 1 and Indy cars and came here to the States as their GTP (prototypes) project manager in 1984 . I worked mostly in IMSA racing on the GTP cars through the 80’s and early 90’s, until I got into vintage racing restoration and preparation. I then met Andy and closed my business down and have been working with him for his automotive safety consultancy business, as well as helping him with his vintage race cars and the March archives side of his business.

Where do you live?

I am from Oxford in the UK originally and I have lived full time in the US since 1986 and Alpharetta since 1989.

How do you use your membership? Business? Pleasure?

I will use the club mostly for pleasure, but many of my wife’s potential clients are car guys. I will be sure she tells them about AMP, as an added benefit of living in the metro Atlanta area. She handles a lot of corporate executive relocations and hopefully she will be able to get a couple of new members for you and maybe tip the balance in the favor of Atlanta for people that are considering other cities to relocate to.

What do you like most about AMP

So we could have fun with our cars, on our schedule, and to not have to travel hundreds of miles to a race only to miss track time due to weather and other issues out of our control. What I think I will enjoy most about the club, aside from obviously the track time, is the social aspect of being able hang out with other like minded people .

Anything you would like to say to other potential members?

Please join the sooner the better. Jeremy can get this built.
