Tell us about the cars you love to drive

I have a 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo – black. It’s my “toy”. I never get tired of the 0 to 60 rush or cornering from these incredible machines. My day-to-day car is a 1998 Lexus GS300. I have 135k miles and the Title! In today’s economy I’ll take it.

Have you ever been trained to drive?

I’ve participated in the Porsche Driving Experience at Barber Motorsports in Birmingham. In my early teens I use to race Go-Carts in Fayetteville, NC. Only one win but a lot of fun. Ended up moving to Gastonia, NC which ended my “racing” career.

What do you do for a living?

’m an accountant by trade. In 2002 I pulled together two people I know and trust and we formed Callaway Partners, LLC. It’s an accounting & finance project management and contract labor firm. We sold the company to Huron Consulting in August, 2007. Since then I’ve been looking for the next full time business opportunity, watching my two children grow (12 yr old daughter, 10 yr old son), spending time in Costa Rica, and working full time for my wife at home.

Where do you live?

Currently live in and call Atlanta, GA home. Was born and lived in Fayetteville, NC but primarily grew up in Gastonia, NC. Have lived in Winston Salem, NC, Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC.

How do you use your membership? Business? Pleasure?

I’ll use the membership primarily for pleasure but also for unique experiences with business relationships.

What do you like most about AMP

The proposed total club experience that has as it’s center piece a world-class, varied road course. I’m
encouraged by the quality of members and moral standards AMP is being founded on. Often times a local community will experience a positive boost with the addition of a favored attraction. Given the local racing heritage of Dawsonville, I look forward to watching how AMP benefits the area while offering my family and friends some “out of Atlanta” time.

What was it about AMP that made you want to join?

It has the makings of a quality road track facility that allows novice drivers the opportunity to enjoy and experience high performance cars as they were designed to be driven. Besides that, I enjoy adventure, competition and fast pace. Combining the boy in me with technology and speed makes for a great day.

Anything you would like to say to other potential members?

Obviously AMP is not for everyone. But for those of us who have grown up around racing, enjoy the
attributes and performance qualities provided by circuit track cars, and are looking for excitement that’s illegal on our roadways, AMP is a no-brainer. Add in the country club offerings of socialization and relaxation and you have a total package that’s worth investing in.
