TT RS at delivery 2 - Ted Dannemiller

Tell us about the cars you love to drive

We currently own an Audi TT Quattro coupe with some track preparation, an Audi Avant 1.8 TQMS, a Mercedes C230 SSk (wife’s car), and a track-ready VW MkIII we call “tghp” (the green hornet project). I’ve owned performance cars since the early 1980s, including Triumph, VW, Porsche and Audi.

Have you ever been trained to drive?

I have several hundred laps on Road Atlanta, Talladega Grand Prix Raceway (Little Talladega) and Roebling Road. I’ve participated in 6 HPDE (high performance driver’s events) in the TT and VW over the last three years. I also autocrossed extensively from 1975 until 1993, driving a Porsche 914 eventually. I also coached at the last BMWCCA/ACNA HPDE held at Road Atlanta in August 2010. I also help organize HPDE and motorsports experiences for Audi Club North America and Audi Motorsport Experience.

What do you do for a living?

I currently work for Southern Nuclear Company, near Augusta GA. We are designing and constructing the 1st new nuclear plant (Vogtle 3 and 4) in the western hemisphere since 1990. I serve as the Ops Readiness Supervisor, responsible for development of programs, procedures, and processes to support our commercial operation date in 2016. I have been an organization leader in the military and industry for 35 years.

Where do you live?

Terri and I currently live in Evans, GA

How do you use your membership? Business? Pleasure?

I plan to use it for both: my LLC, TTP, Inc. is my segue into driving instructor assignments at HPDEs here in the southeast. And of course, I’ll drag “tghp” out for fun as much as I can stand!

What do you like most about AMP

AMP has a solid leadership team that will provide me and fellow enthusiasts the opportunity to safely explore our passion. In the process, we’ll make new friends: I’ve already made several meeting at the site and on the site’s Facebook page!

What was it about AMP that made you want to join?

The opportunity to develop new friendships and experiences based on a shared passion for high performance driving. In addition, I plan to pass that passion on to a granddaughter who shows great promise on karts!

Anything you would like to say to other potential members?

This is our opportunity to do, instead of watch. Come join the fun!

I am excited to be part of the founding legacy at AMP. I look forward to learning from other members and the staff, sharing my perspectives, and enjoying the unique experiences at the site
